Hi All,

This is the time of year where we all start to get a barrage of summer activities, camp registrations, softball, soccer, and yes, even hockey invitations.

I wanted to use this to start some commentary on hockey specific camps, leagues and training opportunities for your daughter in the offseason, should she choose to drag you indoors during the summer months :-)

Note these are not exhaustive by any means, but are programs we have had HP girls participate in during prior years and the coming offseason.

Spring / Summer / Fall Leagues:

- MASH 10U: it sounds like there will be spring teams forming, particularly for those moving on to 10U next year. These are not association run teams, but coach / parent managed teams. I would highly encourage the girls moving up to 10U to do this to get some more exposure to the full-ice game. If not for spring, consider this for fall. These teams, which participate in the MASH league (https://www.mnallstarhockey.com/), are typically very inexpensive options. Anyone coordinating these, please let parents know who to contact if interested.

- MASH 8U: I am not sure that anyone is coordinating this for returning 8U skaters for spring, however, we will definitely have one for the late summer / fall session.

- Minnesota Made: There are currently 3v3 leagues forming for 8U skaters at the St. Louis Park location (near West End): http://minnesotamadehockey.pointstreaksites.com/view/mmha/home-page-657/announcements/news_533575. Players are randomly placed on teams and ultimately balanced out for fair play. We did one of these tournaments last summer and it was a blast.

AAA Teams and Programs

- A lot of these are set for spring / summer already. Tryouts are usually in the fall, so if this is of interest to you, pay attention late summer for tryout information. In addition, however, they all offer numerous opportunities for summer clinics at vary levels of intensity, cost and commitment.

- Fury AAA (https://www.furyaaa.com/). Jorgia and Evie will be skating with Fury this summer at different age levels. They have an 8U development program still open for the summer.

- Ice Cougars (https://www.mnicecougars.com/home). The Hunker girls played here last summer with some other HP families and expressed it to be a very good experience.

- Os Hockey (https://oshockey.com/). My daughter did two of these clinics last year and it was terrific. A solid number of the staff are current players with the Minnesota Whitecaps, which is really cool: https://oshockey.com/by-age/u6-u10/

- Minnesota Made (http://minnesotamadehockey.pointstreaksites.com/view/mmha/clinics-training/summer-training/mites). A wide variety of clinics are available throughout the summer

Hopkins / St. Louis Park Programming:

- Both associations have historically offered some form of skating and/or dryland during the summer months. However, I have not seen any details yet from either side. Given the rise in participation this season, we may try to get some girls-specific ice time in place, especially for fall clinics. Stay tuned on these.

Skating focused programming:

- Karn Skating Dynamics: https://www.karnskatingdynamics.com/. Karn focuses on proper skating technique and form. Terrific clinic. My son participated in this last summer.

- ProEdge: https://proedgepower.com/. Diane and Andy Ness...current skating coaches for the MN Wild.

Please add any others your player will be participating in during the offseason.
